As I’ve mentioned previously, I generally get out to NYC about 1-2 times a year for a “little” change of scenery from Los Angeles. This past August, I spent a quick weekend in the Big Apple popping into some of my favorite places, and checking out the new Whitney Museum of American Art. Much like the city itself, my weekend was fast paced, exciting, and a just little overwhelming too. There’s always so much to see and do in New York. Then, factor in a leisurely lunch at one of the many amazing restaurants and before you know it, the day is over. With limited time, I tried to keep my agenda fairly short. A few quick pop-ins to some of my favorite stores like ABC Carpet & Home and Love Adorned quenched my thirst for a little retail aesthetics, while I reserved more time to wander around the Whitney Museum and check out the collections. I was inspired to see some of my favorite artist’s pieces up close, especially while currently working on the Artists & Craftsmen Collection of pouches for the Den & Delve Shop. The remaining time was spent wandering neighborhoods and enjoying the city energy, and of course catching up with friends over long meals (and a few cocktails) at some of those great restaurants only NYC can offer (LA, take note).
Already looking forward to my next return trip… feel free to share your favorite places or things you think I might enjoy in the comments below. I’m always looking for something new to experience or explore!
